Refund & Cancellation Policy
1. Cancelling your monthly plan
- Notice period: 30 days' written notice by email to infozy@zyrorent.co.za.
- Fees during the notice period: the monthly fee remains payable up to and including the last day of the notice period.
- What happens at the end: if you have not bought the website out, we will take it offline and remove it from our hosting at the end of the notice period. We will keep a backup for 30 days afterwards in case you change your mind.
- Your content: on request, free of charge, we'll send you a copy of any text, images and customer data you supplied or that was captured by your site, in a portable format.
- Domains: if you registered the domain yourself, it stays with you. If we registered the domain on your behalf and you'd like to keep it, we can transfer it to your registrar account at cost.
2. Buying out your site instead of cancelling
If you'd like to keep your website but stop the monthly fee, you can pay the once-off buy-out price shown on your plan. We then hand over the code, design files and assets, and stop billing you. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.
3. Refunds
Monthly fees already paid
Monthly fees are billed for service already delivered or being delivered. We do not refund a fee for a month in which the site was hosted, maintained, and supported as agreed. If we failed to deliver the agreed service for a full month, please contact us and we'll work out a fair refund or service credit.
Setup & design work
We do not charge a separate setup fee, but the first month's payment partially funds your initial design and build work. If you cancel before launch:
- Within 7 days of paying your first invoice, and before we've started design work: full refund.
- After we've started design work: refund minus the design hours already worked, charged at our standard hourly rate of R350/hour.
- After launch: no refund of the first month, but you can cancel future months on 30 days' notice.
Buy-out fees
Buy-out fees are non-refundable once the code and assets have been handed over to you.
4. Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act
Section 14 of the Consumer Protection Act gives you the right to cancel a fixed-term consumer agreement on 20 business days' written notice, subject to a reasonable cancellation penalty. If a fixed-term applies to your plan, we'll set out any penalty in writing on your invoice. Section 56 (implied warranty of quality) and section 55 (right to safe, good-quality goods and services) also apply where relevant.
5. How to request a refund or cancellation
Email infozy@zyrorent.co.za with the subject line "Cancellation request — [your business name]". We'll confirm receipt within 2 business days and process any approved refund within 14 business days to the payment method you originally used.
6. Disputes
If we can't agree on a refund or cancellation outcome, you may approach the National Consumer Commission, the relevant Ombud or a competent South African court. We will always engage with you in good faith first.
